Bringing Families Together With Hikes In The Grand Canyon

September 24th, 2008 by admin

Few things create the level of bonding and healing for a family as a Grand Canyon hike down to the Colorado River and back out. There are three reasons why it is so effective, and it’s OK if you don’t have the physical fitness to do it, or if you have small kids – I have some solutions for you!

Grand canyon hiking tours

First, the reasons why a hiking trip into the Grand Canyon is so beneficial for families. The primary reason is that the Grand Canyon is an incredibly special place: a canyon eroded by hundreds of millions of years of running water and blowing wind. It’s literally a 4000 foot deep chasm sliced down the middle of a huge plateau with a wild and incredibly scenic river thundering through the bottom of it. Desert flowers, wildlife, waterfalls, springs, rapids, and views that astound even the most cynical of people define a Canyon experience completely. It’s very difficult to not look out at the Canyon from the rim after spending 3 or 4 days in the bottom and not feel total gratitude for being alive in that moment. And that gratitude is the life blood of family relationships.

Second, small groups of people living in the wilderness is the basic environment that human beings evolved for the vast majority of the past 70,000 years. It feels correct, and it creates the space for emotions and more difficult feelings to be worked with openly. In other words, it opens up communication channels.

Third, hiking the Canyon is an achievement. Families, like any other teams, are happier when they are winning and are less happy when they are not winning. A hike into the Canyon is an achievement for the family. It isn’t easy, it is challenging, and that’s one of the reasons it’s so effective.

If you aren’t physically fit enough to do a Grand Canyon hike, then I’ve got some solutions. First, you may be in shape enough to hike without a pack, and if you are, then there are mule services to carry your gear down and back up, so you don’t have to do it. The mules are also a great solution for families with young children. Another solution is to book the trip several months out and start training – if you aren’t in shape for it, then get into shape and make it a mechanism for being healthier. If neither of those solutions will work, then another option is to do a Grand Canyon rafting trip with day hikes from the bottom.

Successful Tips To Gain Control Over Your Life

September 24th, 2008 by admin

The power of rapport-building is often used by therapists and is commonly known as conversational hypnosis. Often the results obtained from this approach are preferable to traditional treatments and in recent years, this strategy has become popular with people looking for ways to get ahead and become successful.

Commonly Used As Therapy

In a clinical setting, conversational methods are intended to get the patient thinking and talking about their situation in a comfortable, safe setting. By creating casual interaction with the patient, the therapist can begin to build rapport and trust. By encouraging active engagement in the discussion, the therapist will often guide the patient to draw their own conclusions that will lead to healing or finding a solution to the problem being treated.

Interestingly, when a person comes up with their own answers through a thoughtful process like this one, their decision is more powerful since it is their own. The therapist didn’t just listen to the problem and tell them what to do. But rather, the patient was skillfully guide to the answer and believed it was their own idea and became committed to the solution. Don’t fail to realize how powerful this is.

How To Use Conversational Hypnosis To Your Advantage

How successful could you be if you had the skills to talk to someone and convince them to believe the point you were making - without them even knowing you had a point?

For example, if you are in sales you may have used this technique with some success. You get your lead talking and you try to persuade them that they want whatever it is you’re selling. If you think back on successful sales meetings, you may notice that some clients just seemed to sell themselves. Whether you knew it or not, you may have used some of these conversational techniques. Imagine if you knew all the tactics and could make this happen on command?

Others choose to use these strategies with getting dates. Wouldn’t it be better to build a relationship with someone who realized on their own that you were the hottest thing around rather than you telling them it was so? When a person decides something on their own it has more power than if someone else tells them an opinion. By the art and skill of conversational hypnosis, you can convince someone to draw the conclusion you want them to and they’ll believe it was their idea all along.

Isn’t it time things started going your way? You can start learning conversational hypnosis today and start using techniques immediately that can make positive changes a reality for you.
