You can never put in too much groundwork for an interview. The more ready you are, the harder it will be to make any slip ups. It is best to prepare yourself emotionally as well as intellectually for any interview. capable interview is not as difficult as you may think, but not as undemanding as others do either.

Listed below are some words of advice that will help you achieve a successful outcome.

The Dos And Don’ts
There are specific things you should do and should not do at an interview if you want the meeting to be a success.

The Do’s
* Be absolutely certain you know the where the interview will take place and howto get there.

* Get there on time. It’s even better to arrive 5 or 10 minutes early.

* Before the interview, make sure you know the interviewer’s name and address them by their name when being introduced.

* When introductions are being made always smileand use a firm handshake.

* Be alert and act interested throughout.

* Keep eye contact especially when one of you is talking.

* Make all comments in a positive manner.

* Speak clearly, firmly and confidently.

* Champion your strengths.

The Don’ts
* Be aggressive or too egotistical.

* Spend too long discussing money.

* Show a lack of interest in the job or the company.

* Act defensively when questioned about anything.

* Speak negatively about previous workmates or employers.

* Answer with only a yes or no.

Body Language

Below are some of the popular that you should avoid when presenting yourself for an interview for a job.
* Avoid fidgeting. It shows poor self confidence.
* Avoid speaking whilst using overly expressive hand movements. It is very distracting.
* Do not sit with your arms crossed because it makes you appear on the defence.
* Never shrug your shoulders when asked a question that you are uncertain of. Take a second to think of a reply. Shrugging your shoulders merelygives the impression that you don’t know or care.
* Don’t answer to a question with nods and head shakes. Always use words to reply to questions.
* Get plenty of sleep the night before the interview. You don’t want to be seen yawning in front of the interviewer. It will look like you are bored.

Your First Impression
First impressions can be a difficult obstacle to get beyond. In an interview you want to give the best first impression that you can. There are a number small things that you can do to help you create the best impression you can.
* Be courteous to the person that shows you to the waiting area when waiting for the interview. A small action like, asking how they are can work wonders for you when you leave later on.
* While waiting for the interview, watch your posture and conduct yourself as if everyone going by is your potential interviewer. (They just might be) Smile. Do not look impatient or bored, it conveys the wrong message. Some interviewers will keep you waiting just to see how you react.
* Greet you interviewer with a firm handshake and a smile.
* Remain standing until your interviewer requests you to be seated. It is being polite and shows good manners.
* Always wear clothes appropriate to the type of job that you are applying for.
* While waiting to be interviewed you should not eat or drink anything.
* Do not talk on your cell phone while waiting to be interviewed.
